The Oyster Counter & Bagger is our flagship automation machine — it takes the two most tedious jobs of oyster or clam processing, counting and bagging, and does them in a single process. Bulk oysters go in one end; counted, bagged product comes out the other. It's built for farms that have outgrown counting by hand and want repeatable bag counts without adding labor.
The system works in four stages. A wide infeed hopper meters oysters onto a slow-moving belt that can be set up on either side and gently drops them into a single-file line on stainless steel foam filled rollers. The rollers gently move the oysters to the end where each oyster breaks a sensor beam and is tallied. From there they drop into a rotating 2-output diverter: when a mesh bag reaches its target count, the diverter indexes to the next station, so every bag comes off the machine filled to the same number.
Like every Shell Game machine, it's fully welded 6061 aluminum frame with adjustable legs. It's built to order and configured to your throughput, oyster size range, and target bag count. This is available with our classic control and the newer updated touchscreen control.
